is a real-time space strategy game that takes place in a totally 3D universe.
The inhabitants of a desert planet stumble upon a buried space ship and come to the realization that they aren't originally of that world. Through reverse engineering techniques these people are able to construct a spaceship of their own, and head off into deep space to find their home world and the truth about their ancestry.
Like other real-time strategy games, Homeworld includes resource management, unit/structure construction, and tactical warfare. The most interesting feature, however, is the addition of a Z-plane, or 3rd dimension. This means that in addition to being able to move north/south, east/west and all directions in between, the units in Homeworld can also travel up and down in a true 3D environment.
This Homeworld demo includes the game's first 2 missions and a step-by-step tutorial. In the first mission, you can command the massive mothership to begin construction of your fleet. In the second mission, you can learn to engage enemy craft in the unique three-dimensional battlefield of deep space. Each victory brings you closer to Hiigra, your homeworld. The demo also features skirmish mode where you can practice your multiplayer skills against up to seven computer opponents.
