Equilibrium 3D is a nice experiment that fuses an arcader with Arkanoid gameplay and a freerunning/puzzle first-person shooter to create a game that challenges you on multiple fronts. In Equilibrium 3D you start off destroying blocks like in Arkanoid, using a ball and a paddle that can only be moved on a horizontal axis. Some of them have different kinds of power-ups that can be used to your advantage in cleaning the level faster but there are others which once hit, transform the game into a FPS. This mode sets you up for an entirely different kind of game. You get a gun but it’s not for blasting blocks, you actually use it to create them. The catch is that you will have to explore the interior of a block in order to find a detonator which after you activate, destroys it in the Arkanoid-style game. Placing blocks in the three-dimensional space is vital because you will have to use them and your freerunning skills to reach the detonator.
