It’s not an RPG, it’s a game where you play as a ball and you have to roll around in a maze that’s full of traps just to collect some yellow orbs. Roll Playing Game kind of sends mixed signals when trying to figure out whether it’s good or bad with the scale slightly tipping in favor of the latter. There are tons of games that push the same mechanics, guide the ball through the maze without killing it or letting it fall off the board. However, however (I needed two of those just to make a point), Roll Playing Game is different in a lot of ways. For example, it has a swell personality that is shaped by some pretty humorous gameplay hints, the game will make fun of you (just a bit) and it will actually trick you into thinking that it’s all about rolling the ball. There’s much more depth to it and keeping a sharp mind is necessary.
