To make sure that doesn’t happen, you need to fix your spaceship, fill it with fuel and get the heck out of here. The game offers several levels in which you have to do more or less the same thing but the layout changes and the aliens do as well. So, gameplay won’t get tedious, not at all. Rocket Smash EX is a bit tough by default and if you switch it to Hard you really get a kick out of the whole thing.
