Hence, the controls are very important in order for the gameplay to feel fun and engaging, but the level design and the story are quite up there as well. As you might have guessed, it’s no easy task to make every one of these elements work together in harmony. Sugar and Spice is a work-in-progress action-platformer in which you get the chance to explore a colorful world and defeat the monsters that try to plague it. Naturally, many of the gameplay elements do not work as intended at the moment, which is a bit of a bummer. On the other hand, the main idea is nice enough to be worth more effort from the developer in the future. The story revolves around two kingdoms and two rival princesses, namely Princess Spice and Princess Sugar. As you might have guessed, you play on Princess Sugar’s side, and it’s your task to rescue both her and her crown in order to restore order throughout the kingdom. It’s not a great story, but then again it’s cute enough to help you forget about anything else for a while.
