The gameplay mechanics are very simple and straightforward, but the game itself can be quite challenging, at least when it comes to staying hidden and trying not to bump into any police officers. To begin with, it must be stated that the game is designed to come as close to the real thing as possible, at least in theory. Thus, staying hydrated is one of the biggest problems border jumpers have to face in the desert. This is also your problem as well, because you lose water whenever you move. In order to find more you have to explore the map, which is a pretty dangerous thing to do.
