After so many games over the past few decades, almost everything has been tried out when it comes to gameplay mechanics and game modes. However, the virtual reality technology should change all that, given the fact that it’s a drastic change of perspective. Territory Defense is a fast-paced first-person shooter in which your goal is to defend a couple of flags from enemy soldiers by shooting those who get too close. Granted, the project is still in its infancy, so the demo at hand is very rough and unpolished. However, there’s certainly potential here, even if there’s nothing new under the sun when it comes to gameplay. You cannot even choose from multiple game modes, which is obviously extremely disappointing for a new age shooter. On the other hand, you get to feel much closer to the action and become one with the environment, although not even that is very impressive at the moment. To make matters worse, the action is very fast-paced, much like in Quake or Unreal Tournament, which is a big no-no for virtual reality.
